...the strength of the novel lies in the richly-woven narrative and a sensitive evocation of the faiths of Ireland. I certainly feel that Cindy Thomson is an emerging talent and would read her next book, projected also to be set in ancient Ireland. Recommended for both
adults and young adults. -- Susan Cook, Historical Novel Review, Feb. 07 Read the entire review here.

Thomson's Brigid convincingly embellishes the few known facts about this 5 th century national heroine into a compelling Celtic Christian tale.. .-- Dr. Mark Stibbe, vicar of St. Andrews, Chorleywood, England, and author of the bestselling book, Prophetic Evangelism . (Quoted in the August 6, 2006 issue of Christianity Magazine .)

It seems an almost impossible task for writers not born and reared in Ireland to realistically convey the Irish idiom of the English language, but Cindy Thomson has been more successful than most. Her account of the early life of St Brigid is told with an obviously deep knowledge of the social history of fifth century Ireland and the rivalry between the old religion, represented by the druids, and the followers of St Patrick. -- Irish Emigrant

It's hard to believe this is a first novel. Cindy Thomson did a fabulous job of researching her topic, capturing even small details about ancient Ireland to bring this story to life. The book is so well written you feel transported to another time and place--and it's easy to get lost in Brigid's story. The unexpected ending is both beautiful and unforgettable. From start to finish, this book is a wonderful read.-- Ann Tatlock, Christy Award winning novelist.

Rich historical detail and an intriguing story based on the life of Ireland's Saint Brigid. Although this is aimed at an adult readership, my junior high daughter also loved it and has recommended it to her friends. Treat yourself to a spiritually profound journey through historic Ireland!-- Sharon Hinck, author of The Secret Life of Becky Miller .

...readers can enjoy this wonderful work of fiction. This novel provides insight into pagan-dominated Ireland, through Brigid's exciting journey across the landscape of Ireland." -- Brandi Webster, Christian Books Previews.com

Brigid of Ireland is Cindy Thomson’s first novel. Her research is evident throughout the book with detailed accounts of the druid’s religion and the very real struggle between Christianity and paganism.--Michelle Griep, Novel Reviews.
